About US

Evette Mei, LCSW (She/Her/Hers)

Hi, I’m Evette, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and the President of Desert Magnolia Therapeutic Services.

I am multi-racial and a lesbian, and these identities, plus many more, have shaped who I am as a person and as a Therapist. I am dedicated to helping individuals and couples in Arizona uncover their inner strength and resilience. My journey began at the University of Washington, where I earned my Master’s in Social Work with a focus on social justice and clinical mental health. Since then, I have expanded my expertise to support diverse clients, specializing in therapy for LGBTQ+ adults and couples navigating complex relational challenges or trauma.

My practice is grounded in trauma-informed care and attachment theory. I believe that building strong, healthy support systems is essential to navigating life’s stressors alongside our community. In addition to my clinical work, I share my passion for the field as an Assistant Teaching Professor and Campus Director at Arizona State University’s School of Social Work.

I utilize an eclectic, flexible approach tailored to your unique needs, drawing from evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), the Gottman Method, AASECT Sex Therapy interventions, and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for trauma. I am deeply committed to your well-being and look forward to helping you achieve the quality of life you deserve.
