My name is Evette and I am a multi-racial, queer, Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Arizona and President of Desert Magnolia Therapeutic Services, LLC. I have a passion for supporting others as they realize their own strengths and resiliency. I received my Master's degree in Social Work in 2015 at the University of Washington, one of the top programs in the World, with a focus in social justice. Since then I have been working as a Clinical Social Worker providing therapy to LGBTQ+ individuals and queer/non-monogamous couples faced with complex challenges. I also instruct at ASU's School of Social Work.
I have been trained in several therapeutic modalities, but prefer to take an eclectic approach utilizing components of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Gottmans Method for Couples, and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for trauma.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Arizona. I am passionate about working with adolescents and emerging adults (13 - 25) but I have experience working with a wide variety of populations.
During my time working in the behavioral health field, I have gained extensive experience working with children, adolescents, and their families. This experience has provided me with an understanding of the unique challenges that young individuals and their families face when it comes to their mental and emotional well-being.
I have experience utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills. I have gained proficiency in teaching mindfulness techniques, emotion regulation strategies, distress tolerance skills, and interpersonal effectiveness. In my work I have seen firsthand the positive impact that these therapeutic approaches can have on individuals’ well-being and their ability to make lasting changes.
Overall, my experience working with children and adolescents in behavioral health has allowed me to witness the resilience and potential for growth that young individuals possess. I am passionate about providing them with the support, guidance, and resources they need to overcome challenges and thrive in their lives.

It takes courage to seek help and to share your story and I am here to offer you the space to do just that. Maybe you feel like you have been sad for far too long. Or the grief you’ve been through has not been witnessed. Perhaps there is a ‘normal’ life change happening that feels like a weight sitting on your chest. Whatever the strife, we can approach it together and embark on a journey that is led by you. I specialize in supporting both youth and adults who are navigating the difficulties of depression, anxiety, substance use and addictions, grief and other life stressors. I identify and work with neurodivergent, LGBTQ+ populations and other `non-conventional' lifestyles and practice from an empowerment and person-centered approach with additional specialized training in mindfulness based stress reduction, trauma informed care and holistic healing modalities.
